Here comes the local memester! Daisuke Okamoto is the current robot combat champion.  After his time in Hope’s Peak, he went to study engineering at his local university despite his promising career path in the art of mauling battle robots. This announcement was very baffling to everyone. He refuses to tell why he had such a change of heart even when he still regularly competes. Daisuke is half Japanese, his mother being American. He moved to Japan from the United States when he was 13.
Because of this, his sense of humor is influenced a lot by western internet culture. He tends to joke around a lot giving him a carefree attitude. He loves to entertain!
But under all the jokes, he is very intelligent and a hard realist who wants to know every detail of the rules and isn’t afraid to ask them from Monokuma.
